Once you’ve bagged a few bargains, take a stroll. There are lots of open spaces in Leicester that will make you forget you’re in such a big city. The main green spot is Abbey Park, and it’s placed just an hour north of the city centre. The River Soar runs right through it – on one side, you’ll find a Victorian-inspired area complete with decorative trees, foliage and lakes. On the other side, you’ll find the captivating remains of Leicester Abbey.
